Bass Lake Family Eye Care specializes in contact lens fittings for people who need bifocal lenses. There are many options to solve all your distance and near vision problems with contact lenses.
MULTIFOCAL CONTACT LENSES
Multifocal contact lenses correct for both distance and near vision in the lenses. These lenses can decrease dependency on reading glasses, though they still may be necessary for especially fine print.

MONOVISION CONTACT LENSES
Monovision contact lenses allow one eye to be corrected for good distance vision, while the other eye is corrected for good near vision. Your brain adjusts to the monovision lenses, and you end up with good vision for both distance and near with both eyes open. This usually works well for people that wear toric lenses. Our doctors would be happy to discuss this option with you and help you determine if monovision could work for you.
DISTANCE ONLY CONTACTS
If you need uncompromised distance vision, sometimes the best way to go is to wear contacts that correct only your distance vision. For close-up work, over-the-counter readers would be worn to correct your near vision.
