COVID-19 Office Updates

We’re Excited to announce that we’re open for appointments!

It is time!!  The past several weeks have been a very difficult and trying time for us all.  Missing life's comforts that we have become accustomed to, the [necessary] temporary restrictions on our normal routines, the quarantines....the fear of the unknown has taken a toll on all of us.  But now, our Governor, our state board of Optometry, the Center for Disease Control, in addition to both the state and National Optometric Associations have all agreed and encouraged that doctors of optometry reopen their practices.  So reopen we will!  It is time for us to continue to care for you, provide for you, and look after your eyes in the way that only the doctors and staff here at Bass Lake Family Eye Care can.  Our goal continues to be to provide you with the highest quality eye care to ensure that you have the very best eye health and the clearest, most comfortable vision.

The Governor and both state and national health advisors have asked that reopening's be done in a "slow and cautious" manner.  So, we will comply with that request in a way that will keep you safe, by minimizing any potential spread of this insidious [COVID-19] virus.  We have instituted some changes that will facilitate safety and caution, but will not affect the quality of your eye examination or your experience at our office.  We want you to know how much we value the trust that you have placed in us and to inform you that we will do everything in our power to keep you safe!  More to this point, please know that we are following and complying with the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).  Here are some changes that you can expect to see on your next visit as we address this current, but fluid, situation:

-We will be in continued contact with state and local health departments to monitor and stay updated regarding any changes in COVID-19 status in our community. We will make any changes in office precautions as necessary.   -Before opening each day, all surfaces in the office will be disinfected. -Exam room equipment and all  surfaces in the exam room will be disinfected between each patient -Throughout the day, we will continue to regularly disinfect high touch areas (door handles, sinks and faucets, counter tops, waiting area chairs, armrests, clip boards, pens, dispensing tables, frames). -Eyeglass frames will be wiped down before and after being handled.

-After each use, the break-room and bathroom will be disinfected.

-Each day upon arrival to our clinic, patients and staff will be screened for temperature and asked a few short questions regarding potential symptoms.

-The promotion of frequent and thorough hand washing or use of hand sanitizer that will be readily available for employees, patients and visitors throughout our facility.

-All patients and staff members will be expected to wear face masks at all times.  Patients should bring their own mask or face covering to their appointment or visit.

-Patient flow (exams and frame selection) will be structured such that patients interact with as few staff members and other patients as possible.  -Individuals should maintain six feet of distance between each other when practical.

-Patients are encouraged to call the office upon arrival and wait in your car for your available time.

-Companions will be asked to remain outside of our facility and not accompany the patient unless they are parent/guardian of the patient, or if they are a legal caregiver and need to assist the patient.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.  If there are any concerns or questions that you might have, please do not hesitate to bring them to our attention.  We are here for you.

We look forward to seeing you all again back in our office very soon!

Brad Weeks OD, and the entire staff at Bass Lake Family Eye Care
